New chapter: Premier global publisher Phaidon and legendary furniture company Herman Miller have teamed up on a bookstore and library at the TWA Hotel. The Reading Room: Phaidon + Herman Miller offers a carefully curated selection of the global publisher’s illustrated tomes, which visitors can peruse while lounging on classic midcentury modern furnishings.
The joint venture comes as Phaidon is telling the story of the innovative furniture company in Herman Miller: A Way of Living. The monograph — which debuted in May 2019 — chronicles the more than 100-year-old brand over 10 chapters bursting with thousands of illustrations.
It’s just one of the Phaidon titles that are available — for buying or browsing — at The Reading Room. Bibliophiles will also find selections covering art, photography, design, architecture, fashion, food and travel.
