Rooftop Pool

Watch from our rooftop infinity pool and observation deck as jets take off for faraway lands!

Our rooftop pool is open year-round! In the summer, it's cool and refreshing. In the winter, it turns into a pool-cuzzi and is heated up to 95 degrees every day! Our Pool Bar serves mile-high cocktails and delicious fare year-round.

This fall and winter, you can après swim at the Runway Chalet at The Pool Bar! Our retro Alpine hideaway serves festive libations and food with a runway view — no moguls in sight. Warm up by the fireplace in the tented, heated bar with a Spiced Toddy or homemade hot cocoa in hand as you watch planes ski cross-country!

The pool, observation deck and Pool Bar have different reservation policies for hotel guests and non-hotel guests, which are explained in the chart below. Check out the chart to see if you need a reservation!

How to Book a Pool Reservation

When you're an overnight hotel guest, booking a Pool Reservation is easy! After selecting your guestroom during the booking process, you will see the option to enhance your stay with a Pool Reservation. Scroll to find your preferred time and click to add the reservation to your booking. One note: Our booking system only allows reservations to be booked on the date of your arrival to our hotel. If you would like a reservation on an alternate date, please email us at [email protected].

If you're booking a Daytripper℠ stay at the hotel, we're happy to help add a Pool Reservation. Simply email us at [email protected]!

If you are visiting the TWA Hotel and would like to make a Pool Reservation, please book via ResortPass.

Each Pool Reservation is for one hour and 45 minutes. At the conclusion of that period, guests will be asked to completely exit the pool area so it can be cleaned. For this reason, we cannot accommodate early arrivals.

Our infinity edge pool offers a much-needed respite during sweltering summers. Come winter, it turns into a pool-cuzzi — the water is heated up to 95 degrees! The highly filtered water is purified every 30 minutes (a standard pool recirculates every 6 hours).

 The Runway Chalet ski rack
Take the lift to the (roof)top.

Inspired by the infinity edge pool at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d’Antibes, France, the swimming spot has a beach entry and underwater seating — not to mention a gleaming TWA logo mosaic in the signature colors of gold and red. And its view tops the Mediterranean Sea any day: The infinity pool sits on the horizon of a thrilling scene — JFK’s bustling Runway 4 Left/22 Right, with views all the way to Jamaica Bay.

The retro fireplace at the Runway Chalet
Cozy up après swim.

At 12,079 feet long, 4L/22R is one of the biggest runways at JFK, the fifth-busiest airport in the United States. Jets bearing the livery of American Airlines, JetBlue, Lufthansa, Delta and 70 other carriers take off and land on the stretches of concrete just beyond the TWA Hotel.

 Hot cocoa
Elevate happy hour with homemade hot cocoa, booze optional.

The observation deck also provides a view of the famous Bay Runway — measuring 14,511 feet long (almost 3 miles!), Runway 13 Right/31 Left is the second-longest commercial runway in North America. (Fun fact: The Bay Runway served as the backup landing strip for NASA’s Space Shuttle.) Despite the heavy runway traffic at JFK’s 128 gates, the deck is surprisingly quiet.
